서비스 이용약관 Terms of Service

Teman (hereinafter referred to as "the Company" or "the Platform") is a community-based platform created to help foreigners residing in Korea, international students, long-term residents, and all users interested in life in Korea to connect with one another, share information, and build real relationships. "Teman" means "friend" in Indonesian, embodying the belief that people from diverse backgrounds can become friends in the shared space of Korea.

These Terms of Service (hereinafter "Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you (hereinafter "User") and the Company. By signing up for, creating an account on, or using the Service, you are deemed to have agreed to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please refrain from using the Service.

These Terms apply to all platforms provided by the Company, including the website, mobile applications, and all related features and services.

The Company provides the following key services:

• Meetups: A feature that allows users to create and join offline or online gatherings based on interests, location, activities, and more.
• Community (Q&A): A space for sharing questions and answers about life in Korea.
• Events: Provides information about and supports participation in local events, cultural programs, exchange activities, and various other events.
• Market: A marketplace feature for users to buy and sell used goods, household items, and similar products among themselves.
• Jobs: A space for sharing various employment opportunities, including part-time jobs, internships, and full-time positions.

The Company may modify, add, or discontinue some or all of the services after prior notice for reasons such as service quality improvement, technical necessity, or legal requirements. However, if there are significant changes that are disadvantageous to users, notice will be given within a reasonable period in advance.

Teman is a technology platform that provides opportunities for connection among users. The Company does not act as a guarantor, intermediary, or party in any relationship involving transactions, employment, meetings, or any other interactions between users.

• Meetups: The Company does not guarantee the safety of offline gatherings and bears no responsibility for accidents, disputes, or damages that may occur during such gatherings. Whether to attend a meetup and what safety precautions to take are entirely at the user's own judgment and responsibility.
• Market: The Company is not a party to transactions between users and does not guarantee the quality, legality, safety, or accuracy of items being traded. Disputes arising from transactions must be resolved between the parties involved.
• Jobs: The Company does not provide employment placement or job referral services and does not guarantee the accuracy, legality, or suitability of working conditions of posted job listings.

The Company assumes no legal liability for the outcomes of interactions between users, and users must exercise their own caution when using the Platform.

To use the Service, you must create an account. The following conditions apply to account creation:

• Age Requirement: Only individuals aged 14 or older may create an account. If it is discovered that a user under the age of 14 has created an account, that account may be immediately deleted.
• Accuracy of Information: Users must provide accurate and truthful information when creating an account and must promptly update any information that has changed. All disadvantages and responsibilities resulting from providing false information shall be borne solely by the user.
• Prohibition of Account Transfer/Lending/Sharing: Accounts may only be used by the account holder and may not be transferred, lent, or shared with others.
• Prohibition of Multiple Accounts: Creating multiple accounts by the same person is prohibited. If multiple accounts are discovered, all such accounts may be subject to sanctions.
• Account Security: Users are responsible for securely managing their account credentials (ID, password, etc.). Users bear responsibility for any damages resulting from disclosure or unauthorized use of their account information. If suspicious activity is detected, please notify the Company immediately.

The Company values users' personal information and protects it in accordance with applicable laws. For detailed information regarding the collection, use, storage, and destruction of personal data, please refer to our separate Privacy Policy.

• Profile Information: Profile information set by the user (name, photo, bio, etc.) may be visible to other users within the Service. Changes to profile information will be reflected in previously posted content, comments, and other materials.
• Social Login and Data Integration: If you log in through a third-party account (Google, Apple, etc.), information provided by that service may be transmitted to the Company. The scope of data integration is subject to the user's consent.
• Overseas Servers: For the stable operation of the Service, user data may be stored or processed on servers located outside of Korea. Even in such cases, data will be protected in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Users may create and post various forms of content within the Service, including text, images, videos, comments, and reviews (hereinafter "User Content").

• Content Responsibility: Responsibility for the substance, accuracy, and legality of User Content lies with the user who created such content. The Company does not guarantee the accuracy or reliability of User Content.
• Grant of License: By posting content on the Service, the user is deemed to grant the Company a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, transferable, and sublicensable license to use such content. This license is limited to the purposes of operating, improving, and promoting the Service.
• Content Removal: The Company may remove or restrict access to content that violates these Terms or applicable laws, infringes upon the rights of other users, or is reasonably deemed inappropriate for the operation of the Service, without prior notice.

Users shall not engage in any of the following conduct when using the Service:

• Sexually Inappropriate Conduct: Posting obscene material, sexual harassment, distribution of sexual content, inappropriate approaches toward minors, etc.
• Discrimination and Hate Speech: Discrimination, hatred, disparagement, threats, or incitement to violence based on race, nationality, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or similar characteristics.
• Fraud and Misinformation: Dissemination of false information intended to deceive others, fraudulent acts, phishing, financial fraud, etc.
• Flooding, Spam, and Crawling: Repetitive posting of identical content (flooding), advertising spam, and automated access to the Service (bots, crawlers, scraping, etc.).
• Illegal Activities: All activities that violate the laws of the Republic of Korea or the laws of the user's place of residence, including the trade or promotion of illegal goods or services.
• Disclosure of Personal Information: Disclosing or distributing another person's personal information (real name, address, contact information, photos, etc.) without their consent.
• Service Disruption: Distribution of viruses or malware, inducing server overload, attempting to circumvent security systems, or any other conduct that interferes with the normal operation of the Service.
• Infringement of Others' Rights: Infringing upon others' intellectual property rights or personal rights, including copyrights, trademark rights, and portrait rights.

If any of the above conduct is confirmed, the Company may take measures such as issuing warnings, removing content, restricting accounts, temporary suspension, or permanent suspension.

The Meetups feature allows users to autonomously create and join gatherings. Please keep the following in mind when using this feature:

• Autonomous Gatherings: All meetups are organized through the voluntary participation of users. The Company does not intervene in or assume responsibility for the creation, operation, or outcomes of any meetup.
• Meetup Information: Meetup organizers must clearly and accurately describe the purpose, location, time, and participation requirements of the meetup. Posting false or misleading information is prohibited.
• Acceptance and Rejection Rights: Meetup organizers have the right to accept or reject participation requests and must take care to avoid unfair discrimination in the process.
• Offline Safety: Safety during offline meetups is entirely the responsibility of the individual user. Please observe basic safety precautions such as meeting in public places and informing trusted individuals of your schedule.
• Active Meetup Limits: To ensure smooth service operation, there may be a limit on the number of active meetups a single user can host simultaneously.

The Market feature is a space for buying and selling goods between users. Please familiarize yourself with and observe the following:

• Transaction Parties: The Company is not a party to any transaction. Sales contracts are entered into directly between users. The Company provides no guarantees regarding the fulfillment of transactions, quality of goods, delivery, or similar matters.
• Accurate Product Information: Sellers must accurately describe the condition, price, and transaction method of goods. Posting false or exaggerated information is prohibited.
• Prohibited Items: Trading of items prohibited by law (narcotics, firearms, counterfeit goods, stolen property, etc.), items that may pose safety risks, or items that infringe upon others' rights is prohibited.
• Dispute Resolution: Disputes related to transactions (refunds, product defects, non-performance, etc.) must be resolved between the transaction parties. The Company is not obligated to mediate disputes but may provide relevant information when necessary.

The Jobs feature is a space for sharing employment information. Please observe the following when using this feature:

• Company's Role: The Company is not an employment placement or job referral agency and does not guarantee the accuracy, legality, or reliability of posted job listings. Employment-related decisions must be made at the user's own judgment.
• Prohibition of False Job Postings: Posting false job listings without actual hiring intent, posts aimed at collecting personal information, or job listings with unfair conditions is prohibited.
• Visa and Residency Status: Foreign users are responsible for verifying their own eligibility for employment based on their visa type and residency status. The Company does not provide legal advice regarding visa matters.
• Reporting and Sanctions: If inappropriate job postings are discovered or reported, the Company may delete such posts or take sanctions against the poster.

The Company retains the following administrative authority and operates sanction procedures for the sound operation of the Service and the protection of users:

• Sanction Levels: Depending on the severity of the violation, the following levels of sanctions may be applied:
  1. Warning: Notifying the user of the violation and requesting correction.
  2. Content Removal: Deleting or hiding the violating content.
  3. Feature Restriction: Temporarily restricting the use of specific features (posting, commenting, messaging, etc.).
  4. Temporary Account Suspension: Suspending the account for a specified period.
  5. Permanent Account Suspension: Permanently suspending the account and blocking access to the Service.
• Immediate Permanent Suspension: In cases of serious matters such as criminal conduct, severe safety threats, or repeated major violations, the account may be permanently suspended immediately without prior warning.
• Reporting System: Users may report violations through the in-service reporting function. The Company will review reports within a reasonable period after receipt and take necessary action.
• Appeals: Users who have been sanctioned may file an appeal in accordance with the procedures established by the Company. The Company will review the appeal and notify the user of the outcome.

The following commercial activities may be included within the Service for operational and improvement purposes:

• Advertising and Partner Content: Advertisements, partner content, and promotions may be displayed within the Service. The Company strives to clearly distinguish and label advertisements.
• Recommended Content: Certain content, meetups, products, job postings, and other items may be featured as recommendations within the Service. Such recommendations do not constitute an endorsement or quality certification by the Company.
• Paid Features: Paid features or premium services may be introduced in the future. In such cases, users will be notified separately prior to introduction, and separate terms of use may apply to paid services.

The Company may interrupt, modify, or terminate some or all of the Service for the following reasons:

• Operational Necessity: Temporary interruptions for technical operational needs such as server maintenance, system upgrades, or infrastructure changes.
• Technical Failures: Unavoidable interruptions due to unexpected technical failures, server errors, or security incidents.
• Security Concerns: Cases where security threats are detected or urgent measures are necessary to protect user data.
• Legal Requirements: Measures taken in accordance with the enactment or amendment of applicable laws or orders from government agencies.
• Business Considerations: Cases where continuing the Service is no longer feasible from a business standpoint.

In the event of significant changes to the Service, the Company will notify users within a reasonable period in advance through in-service announcements, email, or other appropriate methods.

This Service is provided free of charge, and the Company shall not be liable for any damages incurred by users due to the interruption or termination of the Service, to the extent permitted by law.

The Service is provided "as is," and the Company makes no warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, regarding the Service. Specifically:

• The Company does not guarantee continuous and uninterrupted access to the Service, error-free operation, or fitness for a particular purpose.
• The Company is not liable for disputes, damages, or losses arising from transactions, meetups, employment relationships, or other interactions between users.
• The Company is not liable for damages caused by the actions of third parties (hacking, data breaches, etc.) unless the Company acted with intent or gross negligence.
• The Company is not responsible for third-party websites, services, or content accessible through the Service.

However, if users suffer damages due to the Company's intentional misconduct or gross negligence, the Company may bear liability for compensation in accordance with applicable laws.

The Company may amend these Terms due to changes in applicable laws, service improvements, operational policy changes, and similar reasons.

• Method of Notification: When the Terms are amended, the Company will notify users of the changes and the effective date through in-service announcements, email, pop-ups, or other appropriate means.
• Unfavorable Changes: If there are changes that are unfavorable to users, the Company will clearly notify users at least 30 days before the effective date. If a user does not expressly indicate their refusal by the effective date of the amended Terms, they will be deemed to have agreed to the amended Terms.
• Refusal of Consent: If a user does not agree to the amended Terms, they may discontinue use of the Service and delete their account.
• Continued Use: Continued use of the Service after the effective date of the amended Terms shall be deemed as consent to the amended Terms.

The following shall apply to the interpretation and application of these Terms and to disputes between users and the Company:

• Governing Law: These Terms shall be interpreted and governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.
• Dispute Resolution: Disputes arising between users and the Company shall first be resolved through good-faith negotiations. If the dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation, either party may file a lawsuit in accordance with applicable laws.
• Jurisdiction: Lawsuits related to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Seoul Central District Court as the court of first instance.

• Severability: If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable by a court or competent authority, such determination shall not affect the validity, legality, or enforceability of the remaining provisions, and such provision shall be interpreted as valid to the maximum extent permitted by law.
• Non-Waiver of Rights: The Company's failure to immediately exercise or delay in exercising any right or remedy under these Terms shall not be construed as a waiver of such right or remedy. A waiver of the Company's rights shall only be effective when made by an express written statement.
• Language Priority: These Terms may be drafted in both Korean and English. In the event of any discrepancy in interpretation between the two languages, the Korean original shall prevail.
• Entire Agreement: These Terms constitute the entire agreement between the User and the Company regarding the subject matter hereof and supersede all prior oral or written agreements.
